February 23, 2021- Meeting Called to order at: 6:36 pm
In attendance: Derrick Holmes, Marie Ritchie, Jay Permission, Cecilia Martin, James Hare, Pedro Leon
Not in attendance: Heidi Dineen
Determination of Chairman of the meeting was stated and is: A motion was made by Marie Ritchie for Mr. Holmes to chair the meeting. A second motion was made by Mr. Hare. The motion passed. Derrick Holmes will chair the meeting
Call/Roll of the Board: Mr. Holmes did a roll call of the board. The above names listed were in attendance.
Calling of the role to certify proxies: Marie Ritchie (Lot 18) holds proxies for lots 17, 47. Cecilia Martin holds a proxy for lot 16. Derrick Holmes holds a proxy for lots 52 and 54, Karen O’Neill holds a proxy for lot 61.
Proof of notice and wavier of notice: Notice for today’s meeting was posted on our front entry board, on our website, email and text messages were sent, and letters were sent in the mail to all residents with more than a 30-day notice.
Reading & Disposal of any unapproved minutes: All previous minutes from the 2021 year were approved
Election and Inspectors of election: Mr. Holmes asked if anyone was interested in a seat on the Board or had any nominations. Rony Thessier was nominated by Cecilia Martin. Derrick Holmes has stepped down. The other 6 current members of the board still want to represent the HOA. Since there were no other people interested a vote is not required. The following people will represent the Parkwood VI HOA: James Hare, Jay Permission, Cecilia Martin, Heidi Dineen, Marie Ritchie, Pedro Leon and Rony Thessier A motion was made by Mr. Holmes to accept all volunteers to the Board. A second was made by Mrs. Ritchie. All 7 residents were accepted to represent the Board.
Determination & Number of Directors: Marie Ritchie, Rony Thessier, Cecilia Martin, Jay Permission, Heidi Dineen, James Hare and Pedro Leon will represent the board. Marie Ritchie motioned to keep the current board at 7 members. A second was made by Cecilia Martin. The motion passed. All residents were accepted. These 7 people will represent our community as the Parkwood VI Board.
Election of Directors: Positions will be determined at our next meeting
Unfinished Business:
Front Entry sign- with recent costs for storm drain repair and renewals, as well as, our preserve requiring yearly trimming; the front entry sign project has been tabled for future discussion. Sprinklers at the front entry need to be looked at, they are not running properly, James Hare will check them. We can touch-up the paint on the sign and maybe add some small plants and sod where it is needed.
Tree Trimming for Homes in the community: several residents would like their trees trimmed. The board will discuss this with our tree trimming company to get the most affordable price for those interested.
Text messaging Community Members- the company is Easy Text, cost is $150 per year. It is an effective way to efficiently communicate information to community members. A motion was made by Mr. Holmes to approve. A second was made by Mr. Permission. The motion passed.
New business:
AT& T Fiber-
Will be coming out this summer to install the fiber network in our community. The plan has already been developed. They are in the process of obtaining permits. Once they obtain permits, they will present the project to our board for approval , If residents are interested in viewing the plan or need further information, please contact our board member, James Hare.
Tree trimming- The preserve is due to be trimmed in the Spring. It is our yearly trimming. Arrangements will be made for Mr. Kramer, with Reliable Tree Service Inc. to come out.
Community Party : is March 12, 2022 @ 6:00 pm. Bring the kids and your family out in our community for a fun evening. There will be a bounce house, Fire truck, music. Community members please bring a dish and you comfy chairs or a blanket. We will provide the main dish and put out tables and some chairs. This is always a great community event! Come out and meet your neighbors, laugh and enjoy!
Open Floor Discussion
There is a member of our community feeding cats early every morning on the edge of our community and Lyons Creek Middle. There is now 10-12 feeding there, as well as, raccoons. Many people now have these cats, voiding on their property Community members are asking that this homeowner please stop feeding the cats. Discussions were held on trapping them and then bringing them to Pet Population.
All architectural requests please send to Marie Ritchie or Heidi Dineen for approval. Mr. Permission will make a note of this on the website.
MEETING WAS ADJOURED AT: A motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Mrs. Holmes. A second was made by Mr. Leon. The motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 7:07 pm.
NEXT BOARD MEETING: tentative date for our next meeting is May 18, 2022 Time and place TBA.
